1 MILE FUN RUN: Begins at 9:00 following the 5K finish.
STARTING LINE: Marriott's Grand Hotel, Highway 98
in Point Clear, AL.
AWARDS: Awards Ceremony & Door Prizes at 9:30

BENEFICIARY: The Lebanese American Club of Mobile
(host organization) is proud to make St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital LAC local charities the beneficiary race. 90% going
to St. Jude and 10% to LAC local charities.
COURSE: The course is flat, fast and scenic route
through Highway 98 in beautiful Point Clear. Begins at the
famous Grand Hotel, out and back. Course will be accurately
measured to USATF standards. The course is certified.
REGISTRATION: Pre-registration by mail before September
10, 2001. Make Checks Payable to: St. Jude on the Bay. Mail
registration form and check to Mike Todaro, PO box 16231 -
Mobile AL 36616. Day of race registration from 6:30a.m. to
7:30a.m. at the Marriott's Grand Hotel parking lot.
ENTRY FEE: $20 registration / $18 pre- registration
(before Sept. 10)
T-SHIRTS: All pre-registration runners and walkers
are guaranteed specially designed T-shirts. Race day registrants
will receive a shirt only while supply last.
In addition, the first 300 registrants will
receive a handsome zippered St. Jude Sports Bag.
REFRESHMENTS: Fresh fruit, bagels, snacks, water,
and sports drinks await you at the finish line.
AWARDS: Presented to the top three men and women overall.
First place Master's male and female (40+) and Grand master's
(50+) and Senior Grand Master's (60+) and overall best in
the wheelchair division. Top three men and women Race walkers.
Ribbons will be presented to all finishers of the One Mile
Fun Run.
AGE GROUP: Top three male and female runners will
receive awards in the following age groups. 9 & under,
10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39,40-44, 45-49, 50-54,
55-59, 60-64, 64-69, 70-74, 75 & older.
RACE NUMBERS: Your race number must be warn visibly
on the front of your shirt or shorts; please do not pin the
pull off tag.
SPLITS/FLUIDS: Split times called at each mile mark.
Water available at approximately 1 and 2 mile marks.
RESULTS: Complete results will be published in PACELETTER,
and on web site www.pcpacers.org

HEAT WARNING: If the weather is unseasonable warm
or cold, use the customary racing precautions with which you
should be familiar and take full advantage of water along
the course. Stop running/walking and seek help if you stop
sweating or feel nauseous or dizzy. ALSO, if you see a fellow
runner/walker who appears to be in trouble, stop and help
if you can.
USATF RULE: Athletes who participate in this competition
will be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with
the USA Track & Field Regulation 10, and IAAF Rule 144.
Athletes found positive for banned substances or who refuse
to be tested will be disqualified from this event, and will
lose eligibility for future competitions. Some over-the -counter
medications contain banned substances, Information regarding
drugs and drug testing may be obtained by calling USOC Hotline
at (800) 233-0393. No strollers, bicycles, skates, rollerblades,
or headphones allowed. Animals are also prohibited from this
entire event.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE: St. Jude on the Bay
reserves the right in the event of an emergency or natural
disaster, to cancel the race or start at a later time, and
in the event of a cancellation, does not guarantee the refund
of entry fees.
A RACE WORTH RUNNING: St. Jude Children's Hospital
was established for the sole purpose of conducting basic and
clinical research into the catastrophic childhood diseases,
mainly cancer. St. Jude is the largest childhood cancer research
center in the United States. No patient is turned away because
of their inability to pay. St. Jude covers all cost, including
travel and food for the patient and on parent. The hospital
was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, and treats
approximately 150 patients every day, without regard to race
or creed. If you are unable to participate in the race but
would like to make a donation (of any amount) to help find
a cure for fatal childhood diseases, or if you would like
